Drawn from Breker’s monumental Der Rächer — The Avenger — and reworked into a stark embroidered emblem for Thuleism.
The original relief presents one of the oldest themes in European art: man confronting chaos. Sword in hand, the figure stands not merely as a warrior, but as an image of resistance — the refusal to submit to disorder, defeat or dissolution.
For this piece, the monumental composition has been reduced to its essential form. The figure, sword and serpent have been translated into a bold embroidered silhouette, preserving the force of the original while transforming it into something designed to be worn rather than displayed.
There is something fitting about that transition. Breker’s original survives as a fragment of another age: monumental, controversial, displaced and largely removed from public view. The Avenger takes that image out of the archive and places it back into the world.
Not as nostalgia.
As a symbol of defiance.
Of struggle against what drags downward.
Of order imposed upon chaos.
Of refusing to become passive before decline.
