Die Vergeltung - Revenge | Volume. II
After Arno Breker.
The work depicts a figure in violent motion, raising a rock against an enemy, meant to symbolize the brutality and wrath of war and the vengeful nature of man. Die Vergeltung belonged to the architectural vision that sought to communicate power, sacrifice and destiny.
The monumental bas-relief was originally intended for the planned "Soldatenhalle"–The Soldier's Hall–in the capital project of "Germania".
The sculpture was lost during the 1945 Berlin-bombings. What remains today survives only through arhcival photographs, preserving a fragment of a vanished artistic program from one of Europe's most controversial eras.
Meticulously restored and digitally prepared to preserve sculptural depth, tonal structure and surfce clarity. Printed on museum-grade matte paper to retain the gravity of the original photographic record.
This edit is exclusively offered through Thuleism. No comparable High-Resultion edition widely available elsewhere.
Created for spaces that value memory over trends.
Not decoration. But a true artifact of history
