Reportedly taken by Soviet troops, it resurfaced decades later in private possession.  The monumental bas-relief was originally intended for the planned \"Soldatenhalle\"–The Soldier's Hall–in the capital project of \"Germania\".\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003e\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eLong believed lost, an investigations led to the discovery of three massive granite reliefs by Breker–identified as \"Der Rächer\", \"D\u003cspan\u003eer Wächter\" and \"Kameraden\"–were discovered in 2015 outside a warehouse in Bad Dürkheim, Germany, leading to seizure by the authorities. Each relief weighs around 40 tons and consists of 49 individual pieces.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan\u003eToday, the original Der Wächter relief is not on public dispay.
